Y U K I S T U D I O S

From paper planes to oil canvases to billboards on the side of buildings in Auckland, there has been a constant need to create and speak in a visual language; no matter the medium. It drives my storytelling and holds a mirror to the lives of others and ask questions that are typically left unsaid.
Growing up with a mixed Polynesian-European heritage inspires a majority of my projects
and heavily influences the way I approach design narratives.
'Yuki' ゆき(Japanese for snow) was a nickname given to me in my adolescence which dawned a playful meaning of remaining optimistic despite harsh conditions. I want the designs I create to reflect this idea and challenge set ideals, subvert the norm and defy expectations.

As a designer I want to change minds, shape better ideas and tell the right story.
